Just a snippet of some memorable things, great and small, that happened this year…
Nikon F100, 24 f/2.8, Kodak E100GMarcia created the coolest birthday week for me, complete with an illustrated book and BBQ, sandwiching a Giants game. I’ve got such an amazing future wife!
Nikon F100, 17-35 f/2.8, Fuji Provia 100FI got to go to Norway! Here’s Bergen, perhaps my favorite city during my two week visit with my family. I ate whale steak at that building in the middle, sticking out into the harbor.
Nikon N80, 50 f/1.8, Kodak Supra 400, photo by MarciaHere I am with Steve McCurry, the photographer I admire the most. His work is simply breathtaking, and I got to go to a workshop he put on. The thing that struck me most was that his focus always was on the subject, getting to know the people, and placing himself in the position to get that shot.
Nikon F100, 80-200 f/2.8, Fuji Velvia (both)
Remy and I explored Alviso a number of times in the fall, trying to get some cool shots. We always ate well, and had fun just exploring, usually not finding all that much, but frequently trying to catch something neat.
Nikon F100, 35mm f/2, Fuji Provia 100FEverett offering me a closeup view of his bounty on Easter. You’ll see his sophomore effort as ring bearer in just a few weeks!
Nikon F100, 24mm f/2.8, Fuji VelviaAhhh, Marin County. The site of my periodic days of solitude, where I retreat away, seek the Lord’s face, and enjoy this wonderful creation He’s given to us.
Nikon F100, 24mm f/2.8, Fuji Astia 100F“We’re engaged!” I gave her the ring, and she said yes. One of the greatest moments of my life, to make an offer to the woman I love to spend the rest of our waking days together, and lo and behold, she accepted! Thank You, Lord. Truly, You shower blessings on me I don’t deserve. Thank You for loving me so much to entrust me with someone as special as Marcia.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
