God always works things out. I think I can say that with confidence, even though at heart I sway back and forth when it comes to faith. But God’s giving me more and more faith as time goes on, step by step. Yesterday, I took another step in obedience and got baptized! Outside, in the pool with Pastor Mike, with friends and family there, declaring God’s goodness – an excellent afternoon.
The reason I started with God always works things out is because yesterday was probably in the busiest time ever of my relatively short working career. I worked straight from Monday through Saturday, migrating the network, trying furiously to get everything online, and had to go back that afternoon. But God certainly does work through chaotic, stressful times to remind us that He’s in control. I was reading through Philippians this morning, and Paul declares “I consider all things loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ.” What a great word for me to hear this morning.
In slightly related news, my now cousin-in-law Jenn got me Chris Tomlin’s “Arriving” for my baptism, and this CD is fantastic! Listening to it on the train right now. God has really blessed this guy as a songwriter and artist.
Oh, and the biopsy came back negative. Nothing malignant.
