Then there was me…

A longer summer recap post is forthcoming, but in the meantime, two thoughts (somewhat connected).

I was reading Bruce Waltke’s commentary on Proverbs for class, and ran across this statement:

“Arrogance means self-exaltation over another person and violates the fundamentally equal honor of each individual (Proverbs 8:13; 16:5; 29:23). The LORD will humble the proud who set themselves above others and deal with them in a high-handed way (30:13; Ps. 18:27)”

I thought it was a great definition of arrogance and how that undermines so much in today’s world. Then, I was hunting for a while for the song “Ballad of Gordon” by Barenaked Ladies (yep, the same guys that did “One Week” ['chiggidy china, the chinese chicken']), which was a little video they put together for FOX kids on Saturday mornings about racial harmony and accepting one another. Very cool.
